In this presentation participants will be introduced to the Independent Child Advocate Program, a successful ADR strategy developed by the Sonoma County (Calif) Special Education Local Plan Area. This program, which has been in existence for over five years, successfully resolves 90% of all cases referred. A PowerPoint presentation will be used to share program statistics, strategies and techniques and anecdotal success stories that support and demonstrate the collaborative, cooperative and open communication values that are at the foundation of this innovative and successful program.
The presentation addresses the following objectives:
- Innovative ADR practices;
- Information on improving and expanding ADR practices;
- Advanced knowledge and skill development in ADR
- Sharing information with state and local dispute resolution coordinators, practitioners, educators and families.
