In the final gathering of NAFSCE’s Family Engagement and Educator Preparation Innovation Project Webinar series on May 8th @ 10am PT, two innovation collaboratives will explore how they are sparking efforts to build stronger systems for preparing educators to engage families and communities.
Jessica Stroope, Stacy Bailey and Sam Fogleman from Colorado will share how their efforts to embed the Family Engagement Core Competencies into educator preparation across the state of Colorado led to the creation of a statewide survey and focus group.
Patricia Edwards and Marliese Peltier will delve into how efforts to run a virtual professional learning book group to enhance collaborating teachers’ competencies in mentoring pre-service teachers across five states increased family-facing professionals’ positive perceptions of how they collaborate and lead with families.
