Randall co-founded RelationSmart Conflict Consulting in 1998 to provide mediation services, design effective conflict engagement systems, and facilitate decision-making for groups experiencing organizational conflict or other barriers to effective performance. Randall has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Boise State, and successfully completed the MA coursework before transferring to the College of Engineering to earn a Master of Science degree in Instructional Design and Performance Technology. He directed the Sounding Board, a university-based mediation program for six years from 1996 to 2002 and was a principal in the design and implementation of the 4th District Court of Ada County (Boise) program in 1997. He then led the court program as their mediation coordinator and trainer for two years. He served as President of the Idaho Mediation Association from 2007 to 2010, taught Communication, Argumentation, Video Production, and other courses for Boise State University and the College of Western Idaho from 2002-2014. Additionally, he taught in the Boise State University undergraduate and graduate Dispute Resolution programs from 1998 to 2018.

Through RelationSmart Conflict Consulting, Randall presents on a wide variety of conflict engagement topics, including basic and advanced mediation and facilitation, group problem-solving, and performance measurement and improvement. Randall also provides workshops with directed skill-building and practice, including conducting needs-assessment, designing training, and other interventions, to meet unique organizational needs. He is experienced working with small and very large groups. Previous clients include the Idaho Department of Education, Head Start, Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Hospital Association, Idaho Humane Society, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, Martin Peace Institute, and Hewlett-Packard.
