Sharon Coppedge-House is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Parents Center Inc., the federally-funded Parent Training and Information Center for the state. She became the Executive Director in October 2006 and was the training coordinator for 8 years prior to that. Sharon was self-employed co-owning several successful businesses prior to working for the parent center. Sharon sits on several disability-related councils, including the Part B Advisory Council at the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the Oklahoma Special Education Resolution Center Advisory Council and the Response to Intervention (RtI) Stakeholder Group.

Her passion for disability advocacy began after the adoption of her first child, Jordan, in 1986. Since then, Sharon has adopted 2 more children – Andrew and Alec. As an advocate for children with disabilities, Sharon believes we can, as a state and nation improve the quality of lives for children with disabilities through early intervention and team work among parents and professionals. Her core values are deeply rooted in honesty, integrity and the desire to serve our most vulnerable citizens, children with disabilities. Her youngest child Alec, now 18 years old, said it best while in Kindergarten class, “We need to serve children now or we will serve them the rest of their lives.”
